Later Friday afternoon, after checking into the Marriot hotel (the "merry yacht"?), we explored
to the west, looking for some clothes for Andrea, walking back by way of the capitol mall.
Near the capitol are some nice old office buildings with classical style sculptures outside.
I like the old conservative style. They appreciated the nude human forms back then.
Andrea took this nice view of the south wing of the capitol building.
East of the capitol is this firefighters' memorial.
Saturday morning we walked down to Vizcaya, the wedding venue, to check it out ahead of time.
It's a beautiful place, apparently a converted home.
We enjoyed the great trees of Sacramento. This one is a red Japanese mountain maple (acer palmatum).
Inspecting the leaves of a sycamore tree.
Getting ready to go while Becky works on her Master's Thesis.
Heading west again to explore the K-Street mall.
We went through the tunnel under the freeway to Old Town Sacramento and saw the Pony Express Rider statue.
Becky amid the ruins in Old Town.
At the wedding Sunday. Becky with Tim Wagner.
Robert Wagner, the groom, Becky, and Tim.
Rick, Robert, Becky, and Tim.
Michelle's father, Michelle, and her mother. Michelle is being handed off to Robert here.
The kiss.
The bride and groom.
After the wedding vows, Becky and I wait outside for the reception festivities to begin.
Roger Herrera and I catch up on old times. We hadn't seen each other for over 30 years.
Presenting a toast at the reception.
Here's to prosperity and happiness in the future!
The beautiful couple cut the cake.
After the wedding we went to the Three Fires Lounge at the merry yacht on the corner of L and 15th St.
for a cocktail. Andrea looks alluring in my hat.
