Characteristics of a good data model

We have already seen many of the characteristics of a good data model. To summarize:

  • Abstraction: irrelevant detail is eliminated
  • Extensibility: the model can be easily modified to accommodate changes
  • Code mapability: the model can be easily mapped to code

    • The object model fulfills these requirements.
