CSci 102 Policies

Grading

Your grade will be based on accumulation of points, with larger point totals getting higher grades.

  • Laboratory assignments (10): 5 points each
  • Mid-term Exam: 100 points
  • Final Exam: 100 points
  • Programming Projects (4): 50 points each

    Make-up Work

Late homework and project assignments will be penalized 10% per day late. Late penalties are assessed from the date the teaching assistant (TA) receives it or the date certified by the computer science department office in SAL 300. All homework and programming assignments will be due on the day of the student's laboratory session and will be turned in to the laboratory assistant (LA) in the laboratory session.

Missed exams can be made up only by prior arrangement with the instructor or in the case of a genuine emergency or serious illness. Missed laboratory sessions can be made up only with the permission of and at the convenience of the LA.

    Score Corrections

Scores for student work will be published (by ID number but without names) within a week of the due date. Students will have two weeks from the published date to identify errors to the teaching assistant (TA). After that time, scores will not be changed.

    Ethics

Rules of ethical conduct shall be respected. If you are unsure of the requirements, see the instructor or refer to the computer science department office in Salvatori Hall room 300. Students are expected to maintain reasonable control over their source code. Do not show your source code to another student. If another student copies your source without attribution, both you and the other student may be subject to sanctions.
