Beach Cities Robotics 2009 VEX Season

BCR used the 2009 VEX Challenge for our summer workshops, as the game for this year was unveiled at the end of the World Championship competiton in Dallas. We went on to compete in the fall of 2009 and won a place at the next VEX World Championship in Dallas.

Los Angeles Regional VEX Competition at CSUN

BCR attended the LA Regional and qualified twice more for the World Championship in Dallas, winning the Excellence Award (highest honor given) and the Programming Skills Challenge.

Hawthorne High Competition

Beach Cities Robotics hosted the competition at Hawthorne High School on October 24, 2009.


Our FLL (FIRST LEGO League) team members helped with field resetting during the competition.


"Charlotte," our autonomously offensive and teleoperated defensive robot. We consistently
scored nine footballs in autonomous mode and won the Programming Skills Challenge, qualifying
us for the World Championship in Dallas.
