2003 January Meeting Demonstration

New president Jim Peerson demonstrated an air layering technique at the first meeting of the year.

Jim takes care of club business before the demonstration.

Jim provided a handout describing the air layering technique.
The demonstration tree is a cork oak.

Jim brought in an elm tree on which the same operation had been
performed a year ago. This is the bottom half of the tree, being
developed as a broom style.

The finished work. The plastic pot around the trunk will remain for
two years, with some root cleanup after two years.
