Monthly club meetings are open to the public and held every third Friday of the month in Room A of the Ken Nakaoka Community Center at 1670 W. 162nd Street in Gardena, California. The annual club show is free, open to the public, and held the first weekend in May in the main hall (auditorium) of the Ken Nakaoka Community Center.

Club board meetings are held the Thursday after the third Friday of every month at 7:30 PM in room D of the Ken Nakaoka Community Center. All club members are welcome to attend.

Annual Bonsai Show The Dai Ichi Bonsai Kai Our 20th annual show will be open to the public (10:00 AM to 5:00 PM Saturday and 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM Sunday) and will feature a free hands-on beginners' workshop Saturday, May 6, at 10:30 AM for the first 15 newcomers to sign in on Saturday morning. A round robin demonstration of bonsai techniques will take place Saturday afternoon at 1:00 PM. There will be a special bonsai demonstration on Sunday, May 7, at 1:00 PM. Benefit drawings will be held following the demonstrations each day. Bonsai vendors will be on site throughout the show and information about bonsai techniques, instructors, sources, and events will be available. Admission and parking are free. Club members should come to help with show setup that will start at 4:00 PM Friday, May 5.Reception and pot luck dinner at 6:00 PM Saturday for club members and invited guests.

Annual picnic, 9:00 AM, El Segundo Park, by the tennis courts. Hamburgers and hot dogs provided by the club. Bring a salad or desert to share. Bingo for bonsai related prizes.
