Bob Lawlor's President's Demonstration

It's a Dai Ichi Bonsai Kai tradition that in January the President of the club gives a demonstration, in which the demo tree is in the benefit drawing. Tickets to the drawing are not sold at the President's Demo, but the losing tickets from the prior year are drawn. It's also known as the "losers' drawing."

Annual May Show

Our annual show's theme is Serenity Through Bonsai.

Saturday begins with the 9:30 free beginners' workshop, led this year by President Bob Lawlor
and Past President Rick Wagner.


We start with some history and theory.


Then we learn by doing.


After lunch on Saturday is the round robin demonstration with Jim Peerson, Bob Lawlor, and Rick Wagner.

Arts Day LA

The club was asked to participate in this annual event at UCLA.


It's a nice day and they provided tables and umbrellas.

July Picnic

Our annual picnic is held the first Sunday in July after the 4th of July weekend.


Recreation Park in El Segundo is a great place for the picnic.


We start at 9:00 AM working on our trees.
