CS 477 Policies

Grading

Grading is based on accumulated points, up to 1000. The assignment of potential points is as follows:

Homework and pop quizes: 200
First midterm exam: 200
Second midterm exam: 200
Term project: 200
Final exam: 200

Make-up Work

Late homework assignments will not be accepted. All homework will be assigned and due on a Thursday. As a future software engineer, the student should plan for unscheduled events. Homework will be accepted early (on Tuesday, for example) to allow students a margin of safety.

The same applies to the term project. All deliverable documentation will be due on a Thursday, but will be accepted the preceeding Tuesday.

In the event of an unavoidable absence, quizzes and exams can be made up by special arrangement with the lecturer. Bear in mind, however, that the makeup exam will not be the same as the one given to the rest of the students and will likely be more difficult.

Ethics

Rules of ethical conduct will be respected. If you are unsure of the requirements, see the instructor or refer to the computer science department office in Salvatori Hall room 300.
