CSci 455 Policies

Grading

Your grade will be based on accumulation of points, with larger point totals getting higher grades.

  • Home work (approximately 6): 15% (5 points each)
  • Mid-term Exam: 20% (40 points)
  • Final Exam: 25% (50 points)
  • Programming Projects (5): 40% (16 points each)

    Make-up Work

    Late homework and project assignments will be penalized 10% per day late. All homework will be assigned and due on a Thursday. The student should plan for unscheduled events. Homework will be accepted early (on Tuesday, for example) to allow students a margin of safety.

    Missed exams can be made up only by prior arrangement with the instructor or in the case of a genuine emergency or serious illness.

    Ethics

    Rules of ethical conduct shalll be respected. If you are unsure of the requirements, see the instructor or refer to the computer science department office in Salvatori Hall room 300. Students are expected to maintain reasonable control over their source code. If another student copies your source without attribution, both you and the other student may be subject to sanctions.
