September 17, 1998: The get-together for new undergraduate students (freshman and transfer) has slipped eight days, until Thursday, October 1 from noon to 2 PM on the lawn in front of the Salvatori Computer Science building. If this is your first time at USC, come socialize with your fellow new students and instructors and professors. Pizza, sandwiches, and drinks will be served.

September 13, 1998: There are two printings of the text in use now, the first and the second. The primary difference seems to be in the number of errata. Michael Sipser's Web site maintains lists of errata for both printings. The chapter copies I have been providing are from the first printing.
