2013 Outreach

The goal of FIRST is cultural change, and community outreach is a big part of that.

Military Appreciation Day at the Honolulu Zoo

Kalani Robotics and two other robotics team came to Military Appreciation Day, Sunday, May 18th, at the Honolulu Zoo. Andrea and I attended for the first two hours (9:00 to 11:00 AM) to help out.

We set up in a class room. Here some students appreciate the mounted leopard.

Madi photographs the fun.

Highlands Middle School (Pearl City) came with their VEX robot and their Botball robot.

We moved a table outside and put up a banner outside too.

The VEX field was also moved outside.

The big open space at the Zoo was used for more special event exhibits.

We stopped at the Zoo fence to visit with Paul's wife, Lynn. Paul has a lot of new paintings. He's been busy!
