Safety Rules

A student injury could result in the termination of the FRC robotics program at Kalani High School

Tools Used Only by Trained Students Under Adult Supervision

Mill (also a two-person rule for emergency shutoff) Drill press (also a two-person rule for emergency shutoff) Table saw Chop saw (miter saw) Any rotating machinery including bandsaw, sander, and grinder, except hand drill Air compressor

Robotics Lab Safety Rules

List of trained (authorized) students to be posted in the robotics lab Wear safety glasses in the machine shop or within arm’s reach of the robot Wear safety glasses when using a hammer or hand drill Hair must be tied up at all times Covered shoes must be worn at all times while in the robotics lab No loose clothing in the machine shop or near the robot or power tools No ear phones in the shop or around the robot No wearing the earmuffs unless working on or around loud machinery (or absolutely necessary) No untrained students working with any power tools No horse play in the robotics lab
