

This bonsai kamani needs some work. Kamani is a Polynesian introduction to Hawaiʻi. I grew this one from seed.

Seven weeks after styling and repotting of the bonsai crape myrtle. The tree was unwired and pruned.


Tuesday morning I photographed the ten bonsai that I will be selling next Sunday at the Pacific Bonsai Club show and sale.

We had prosecco to celebrate in the evening.
Women are supposed to be very calm generally: but women feel just as men feel; they need exercise for their faculties, and a field for their efforts as much as their brothers do; they suffer from too rigid a restraint, too absolute a stagnation precisely as men would suffer; and it is narrow-minded in their more privileged fellow-creatures to say that they ought to confine themselves to making puddings and knitting stockings, to play on the piano and embroidering bags. It is thoughtless to condemn them, or laugh at them, if they seek to do more or learn more than custom has pronounced necessary for their sex.

In the afternoon we went to Noelani Elementary School to set up the Pacific Bonsai Club show in Mānoa.

Our reservation at Roy's was for 6:15 PM, so the sun was behind the building. We started with spring rolls and old fashioned.

We had a third of an inch of rain overnight and I found this mushroom growing in my back yard in the morning.

Tuesday afternoon I had my OLLI Writers Circle Zoom session while Andrea and Lenora went shopping.

Follow-up on the bonsai mountain apple (ʻōhiʻa ʻāi) that was styled seven weeks ago. It has one flower bud on the upper left.

We arrived early on Thursday and practiced volleys and ground strokes.
