Art of the Tale OLLI Class

I attended my second weekly Osher Lifelong Learning Institute Zoom class on the Art of the Tale on Friday, June 2, a study of short stories from the mid-20th century. We read and discuss three stories per week, each averaging about ten pages. Easy peasy. I'm just reading the text book (The Art of the Tale) straight through but skipping ahead for the assignments.

Bonsai Workshop Preparations

Saturday afternoon, June 10, Andrea photographed me preparing 16 junipers for the Manoa Heritage Center beginning bonsai workshop to be held August 12.

Eight of the 16 junipers, near me, have been repotted into smaller pots with good potting soil to replace the red dirt they came with.

We had a little sing-along with the musical Superman card.

We had to cancel the Summer Solstice Party, which was coming up on Saturday, June 24, because of my lingering cough. Here's the Amazon music we had set up for it: Solstice Music Playlist.

Andrea made a marvelous meatloaf dinner for me.

Family Room Makeover

Andrea and I had talked about getting rid of the carpet in the family room for a long time. On Tuesday we began to do something about it.

Andrea moved most of the furniture with me helping with the heaviest ones. Then she ripped out all the carpet and underpad.

On Thursday the 29th she cleaned up the carpet glue and removed the tack strips.
