2018 Okinawan Festival

Andrea and I helped with the Hawaii Bonsai Association to set up their bonsai display for the event on Friday afternoon, August 31. The Festival opened Saturday, September 1, and ran through Sunday, September 2.

Friday

We helped with the Hawaii Bonsai Association display setup on Friday. I brought my hau tree, dai, and accent to display in the show.

Saturday

Saturday the doors opened at 9:00 AM, free to the general public.

We picked up Emily, Andrea's hanai student in the UH mentor program, and parked at Ala Moana shopping center and walked to the Convention
Center. My hanai student went hiking for the day with friends.
