Sans Souci Beach

Andrea and I went to the beach on Monday afternoon, June 1st.

Hurricane Tabletop Exercise

Andrea and I went to the CERT exercise at Wailupe elementary school building on Tuesday evening, June 2nd.


The meeting started at 7:00 PM but then Danny Tengan got a phone call.

Saint Andrew's Priory Pau Hana

Andrea and I went to the Priory pau hana event at a private home in Wailup Circle on Thursday, June 4th.


People got name tags with their graduating year.

In the afternoon we went for a swim and I saw them working to upgrade the stage at the Aquarium.

Wailupe valley Hike

Andrea and I went hiking up the valley with Alan and Karen on Saturday, June 6th.

Rainbow Bonsai Club Barbecue

Andrea and I attended the RBC meeting and barbecue on Sunday, June 7th.


We bought this Black Dragon hibiscus at the Plant Place in Waimanalo. That's where the club meets every month. Photo by Andrea.

On Monday afternoon we went to the beach and saw them working on the bandstand again.

Andrea's Birthday

Andrea and I celebrated her sixty-first birthday on Tuesday, June 9th.


In the morning I scanned the CERT certificate she got last month.


We had cocktails and barbecued teriyaki chicken on the lanai.

Ke Kani O Ke Kai

Andrea and I took Lenore to the first concert of the summer season on Thursday, June 11th.


In the morning we went to Waimanalo to buy our lily pond container and on the way back stopped at the lookout to take a picture
of Diamond Head behind the Maunalua bay.

We had a certificate for lunch for two at Willows from one of the prizes (the tea set, not the glass bowl) we bid on at

Paintshop Pro.


We brought home a copy of the history of The Willows.

Lily Pond

Andrea and I drove to Waimanalo to pick up our lily pond container, water lily, and guppies on Friday morning, June 12th.

Wedding Anniversary

Andrea and I had dinner at Sarento's at the Top of the Ilikai to celebrate our 34th wedding anniversary on Saturday, June 13th.


This is the card Andrea gave me in the morning along with a new Rix shirt. "You are the stars in my sky, you are my
everything, Happy Anniversary with all my love, ♥ Andrea"


Our waiter took our photo of our toast, both on Andrea's and then on my camera.


I wore my new Rix shirt "Hickam."


Our gratis dessert of tiramisu. I had the Italian Stallion coffee drink.


Sunday morning Andrea took Lenore for a drive to Makapuu while I stayed home and exercised.


Sunday evening we had Stephany over and barbecued buffalo meatballs.


On Tuesday the 16th we went to the beach and saw the fireworks being destroyed by the city from a boat.

Sabrina's Graduation Party

Andrea and I took Lenore to Sabrina's graduation party at Seafood Village restaurant in the Hyatt Hotel in Waikiki on Saturday morning, June 20th.


Zack and Sabrina greeted us on our arrival at the restaurant. Zack photographed guests with Sabrina.


A beautiful Chinese restaurant.


The party filled two large rooms.


The smaller room was for mostly high school friends.

Fathers' Day

Fathers' Day is also the summer solstice this year, June 21st.


Andrea gave me a Shelby Cobra 1/32 scale model and fixed eggs Benedict for breakfast.

Wednesday morning we went shopping in preparation for my upcoming trip to the mainland and I took this one of Andrea
at the Verizon stall in Kahala Mall. The technician there gave me a pointer on the use of my LG Android phone.


My latest mahogany box project is coming along.


At the beach the lifeguards gave up on warnings and went right to physical barriers to keep the walkway open.

Ke Kani O Ke Kai

Andrea and I took Lenore to the concert at the Waikiki Aquarium on Thursday evening, June 25th.

I flew to the mainland on Tuesday, June 30th, to visit family after my father's death in a care facility in Carmel last Monday, planning to visit Walter (visiting with David and Richard), Beverly, Christina, Lisa and her two kids Andrew and Lauren, and John III. Obituary.
