The event began with an opening pule in Hawaiian. The upper levels were filled up.
Senator Schatz was introduced and he introduced Al Gore who got a standing ovation. People sprang to their feet
when he appeared on stage.

The flight home was strenuous with our plane an hour late getting out of Saint Louis, but we made our connection in Los Angeles and were glad to arrive in Honolulu and get a taxi home without problems.
