Andrea patched some old termite damage behind one of the baseboards.
The final layer of patching compound was applied.
She scraped and scraped.
Meanwhile my own can of worms is coming along.

We had a light dinner at Paesano, a white tablecloth Italian restaurant, in the shopping center behind the theater.

We arrived early so were first in line.

We had wine, beer, and pupus that Lynn brought.

The kids worked on their robots.
Saturday we cleaned up the office and found a couple of old certificates that I scanned before throwing away.
This one is from 2009.
I joined the American Legion for a few years. When I discovered that their leadership favored desecrating the Constitution
with an amendment criminalizing using the
American flag in protests
I declined to renew my membership.
On Sunday morning we went to the Kalani High School robotics lab where Malcolm Chun had brought the mobile machine shop
to help the kids build their summer project T-shirt cannon robot.
Last year's T-shirt cannon robot is in the foreground; the current robot is partly assembled on the table to the left.
Afterwards, we went to Zippy's for lunch. Later I calculated the tube stress due to pneumatic pressure in the gun barrels.
The result is 8 ksi, giving a safety factor of 5, completely adequate for the 6061 aluminum tubes.
Shane Xu posted this photo later on Facebook. The SCUBA tank is 3,000 psi source, and two smaller tanks will accumulate 150 psi
regulated shooting pressure.
Monday afternoon we went to the beach and saw what looked like the Black Pearl flying a pirate flag.

Na Hoa, a classic Hawaiian guitar, ukulele, and upright bass singing group, takes the stage. Mark Yamanaka had a similar
group, but the bass was electric.

Friday morning we worked on the bathroom.
In the afternoon we went to the beach. Here, they're setting up a tent for another event at the Aquarium.
The menehune bridge is one year old so I put it in dry dock for another coat of spar varnish.

Saturday afternoon we had two students for Lego League summer program.
We watched some races in front of her club's canopy, Waikiki Beach Boys Canoe Club, while Simina
ate her breakfast.

The line to get in was fairly short when we got there. We waited 10 minutes until 7:00 PM.

The next day, Friday, I met Simina at her apartment and picked up a cabinet she gave us for restoration. She lives in
old Wakikiki.

We talked to lifeguards set up in the parking lot under the monorail.
We ended at the shave ice store.
Andrea and I went to POP Marine to buy charcoal, stopping at La Mariana Sailing Club for lunch.
I looked at a copy of Hawaii's Boats and Yachts while waiting for the bacon and avocado sandwich to arrive.
Andrea enjoyed her food too.
Meanwhile, our friend Simina (left) was winning races with her Waikiki Beach Boys Canoe Club team.

By 9:30 AM the beach was already getting populated.
When I got home at noon, things were in full swing.
So I worked on stripping the cabinet Simina gave us in the carport.
Later we had a barbecue.
We had wine and mai tais under the lychee tree.

This group worked with VEX robots. KRA is both a fundraiser for Kalani Robotics and an educatonal experience for the participants.
These younger students worked with Lego We Do robots.
This small group built pushbutton programmable robots. High school students act as instructors throughout the week.
Roundup (glyphosate) use is becoming quite widespread and has adverse effects in the food supply.
GMO (Roundup-Ready) corn, soy, cottonseed, and canola oil contain glyphosate.

We went out to dinner at Gyo Taku in Niu Valley to celebrate the new carpet.
We've had our dinners from Da Spot restaurant who catered the event, and are working on our second cup of wine.

She loves people very much.
We had a great lunch with home grown lilikoi drinks.
The next morning (August 1st) Andrea fixed the four home laid eggs Suzi gave us for breakfast.
