On Sunday we picked up Simina and Kai for a hike in Kailua. We were treated to a morning rainbow and Simina served us breakfast.
September 2nd.
We hiked along the 1997 levee from the park off Oneawa Street. Annette and Jim look toward the Kapaa quarry at the Kauainui marsh.
The hike is completely level along the top of the levee.
Our Women's Campus Club (WCC) group starts to get strung out.
Under the shade of a hau grove at the end by the highway into Kailua.
Kai, Andrea, and me.
We met a man named Caesar there in the shade, with a bicycle and trailer, who offered to take our picture.
We all went to Zippy's in Kailua for take-out lunch.
We drove to the Hoomaluhia park and botanical garden in Kaneohe to eat lunch, hiking up to a little promontory for the view of Olomana.

On Wednesday I put together some bonsai shelves in the front yard. September 6th.

On Friday morning we drove to the nursery on Haiku Road in Kaneohe to buy more native plants, stopping at Makapuu Beach. September 7th.
That afternoon we went to Sans Souci beach which was uncrowded because rain was predicted for that afternoon. Not a drop. September 7th.
That evening our friend Stephany came over for barbecued lamb dinner. September 8th.
On Friday I went to the beach by myself and it was nearly deserted. September 14th.
Saturday morning we went downt to Waikiki to have breakfast at Lulu's. September 15th.
On Sunday Andrea pulled weeds from the new landscaping, cut invasive scheflerra from the stream bank, helped me cut down an invasive
haole koa from the stream bank, moved rocks in the stream bed, and built a robot. September 16th.

Mutual neighbor Mrs. Young talks to Joel.
Lenore and Andrea take a small table by the side wall and torch ginger.
Joel came by the table to chat.
Mrs. Young joined us at our table.
The professional photographer got pictures of everyone.
The sushi chefs prepared sushi to order.
Lots of guests had a good time.
Wine, pupus, and good food.
Good times and good conversation.
The Shimanis from across the street joined us at our table.
A photo studio was set up in the garage and photos were given to all the guests. Photographing with a green screen
allowed each guest to choose the background.
We decided on the poke nachos and mai tais.
The music duo and hula dancer didn't start until 6:00 PM, so there were still a lot of empty chairs.
Disassembling my second mai tai.
The band started off with a traditional hula.
Later we went to the Kaimana hotel bar for a martini. Andrea had Peligrino.
This cell phone photo without flash barely came out.
Andrea got this one with flash on her cell phone. You can see that most of my martini is still in the glass. That's a water
chaser. We also shared a plate of nachos with beans and guacamole.
Ron Van Clief takes a photo of Simina and her mom Mariana.
Ron's friend Dr. George Love joined us and Simina took us up to the roof to show us the view. That's Diamond Head in the background.
Simina took this one of us with the sunset over Waikiki beach in the background.
Students work on their VEX robot for next weekend's competition at Kalani.
Testing the robot on the field.
We arrived at Diamond Head Theater around 4:30 PM. It was a great musical production.
Afterward we met Carol, Julie, and the two kids at Assagio's Bistro in Kahala for dinner.
