Neil Abercrombie

Neil Abercrombie was a politically active student at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and was a thorn in the side of the administration when I was a student there.

Neil Abercrombie (born June 26, 1938) is an American politician who served as the seventh governor of Hawaii from 2010 to 2014. He is a member of the Democratic Party. --Wikipedia

Neil Abercrombie attended the funeral of his mentor (and my stepfather) Mits Aoki. We exchanged a few words on that occasion at the Church of the Crossroads on University Avenue. Neil also supports the Manoa Heritage Center where Andrea and I volunteer, and I have discussed Mits's teachings with him there.
