Los Angeles

When living in Torrance, about ten miles due south of Los Angeles (LA, pronounced "ellay" (see the movie Easy Rider), I twice had jury duty in downtown LA. On lunch hours I would walk in a different direction each day. I toured China Town to the north of downtown and Little Tokyo to the south.

After the Metro (rail system) went in we would take the green line (from Redondo Beach) to the blue line to downtown to visit the art museums and ride Angel's Flight, and sometimes then the red line to Hollywood.
