Summer 1981 and Beyond

After the wedding and honeymoon at the Kahala Hilton, we flew home first class (by luck) and settled in for domestic life.

Summer 1981

Andrea with her herb garden.

Bob checks out some photos.

Bill playing chess and what appears to be this photo album, possibly this page.

Andrea fixing lunch or dinner.

Andrea watering on Palm Drive.

Andrea with panda bear.

Andrea helped me refurbish surf damaged boogie boards outside the garage on Palm Drive.

Andrea with Panda Bolt and Ultra II. The more rearward mounted skegs were much less effective.

Panda Bolt got a covering of filled epoxy in the nose.

Bill's friend Rodger, Andrea, and Bill with Panda II.

With panda bear and wedding rings. The horse vase was a wedding present.

Just about every weekend we had a party or went to neighbors' houses. Andrea's friend from work Peggy.

Wayne and Herta (from Germany) lived across Palm Drive, next to Bill Majek.

Party time. July, 1981.

Wayne and Herte.

Always good food and drink.

Party time.

Herte and Wayne.

We visited Walter and his wife in Santa Barbara in July. That's a good shot of Andrea's wedding/engagement
ring and the gold seagull pendant I gave her after we met.

Having lunch at the old hotel in Santa Barbara.

We traveled up the coast of California to Salinas and visited my brother John and family.

Baby Lisa and Pat Wagner.

August 11, 1981 birthday pie. I was 32 on my first birthday after we were married. Delicious!

Andrea, cat, and Bill Majek.

Fall 1981 and Beyond

Mom and Mits but not sure when or where this is. No shoes indicates probably Hawaii.

We traveled to Kauai, ostensibly as tour leaders, but not sure what our role was. Andrea looking beautiful as usual.

The view from the beach.

The view of Andrea.

I always liked to read on the beach.

With my polaroid camera case.

At Dad's house in Carmel Valley with Walter and John.

Rick, John, and Walt.

Beating Walter in a chess game. Probably more than one.

Walter with his wife on a bench. Not sure when or where.

A christmas party. That Margaret Keane print was a wedding present.

Andrea with the photo album.

At a restaurant party. My polaroid case on the table.

Tim with parrots, at Paradise Park in the Manoa Valley.

Robert with parrots.

Robert hand feeding a bird.

Walter with the boys.

House on 10th Street in Manhattan Beach

After living in the house on Palm Drive in Hermosa Beach for well over a year, we moved briefly to an appartment in the 600 block of Manhattan Beach Boulevard, and then to a house on 10th Street near the Tennis Courts and nearer to TRW (now Northrop Grumman) where I worked. Tim and Robert came to live with us for a year.

I had bought a used 12 inch table saw that I set up in the garage.

My sister Chris gave us a Korat Siamese cat named Amber for the color of its eyes.

Uncle Ed, Aunt Betty Ann, Andrea, Lisa Wagner (in arms), Aunt Beverly, and Uncle Jerry.

The kitchen counter. I had made two stools for the boys. Nieghborhood kid birthday guest (left).

I finally got some glasses due to nearsightedness. Kimo gave us that photograph of the Minarettes as a wedding gift.

Amber on the couch with the table cloth for the birthday party. September 28th, 1982.

Opening presents.

Robert the birthday boy. He was nine.

Robert with some toys by the front door and cat post.

Andrea made the cake for Robert.

Tim watched.

I watched too.

Happy with presents.

Looking at the polaroid photos.

The living room was well decorated.
