Malia's Visit in 2012

Malia visited Becky in May, bringing Trystan and Lenore along. Photos and captions courtesy of Becky.

Malia, Trystan, and Lenora trekking along the railroad tracks.

Family trek on the tracks from Aunt Becky's house to the little park.

Family picture again.

Candid shot of Trystan sliding down the slide at the little park. Later, he made friends with some of the kids in the background.

Lenora getting ready to slide.

Sliding again for the 10oth time. She's a real slide enthusiast!

Lenora and Aunt Becky raced down the slides, and Lenora won.

Getting buckled in for their first bumper cars ride ever! At the Hudson Valley Fair.

Kids don't look terrible thrilled about this ride, even thought they picked it!

Trystan quickly caught on and zipped around the little arena, dodging attackers and bumping into everyone he could.

Lenora look unimpressed, but Trystan was pretty proud. Afterward, he said, "I hit many cars! Many times!"

Pony ride at the Hudson Valley Fair, Lenora rides like a pro.

Pony ride!

The littlest hiker hitches a ride.

Trystan learned a lot today, like how to identify trail markers and how to tell the difference between a wash and a
trail. Difficult to tell on Mount Beacon, where the trials tend to get washed out!

We reached the top!

Family photo at the ruins of the Mount Beacon Incline Railway Gear House! (Lenora's nickname is Sassy, can you tell?)

Trystan liked the gear house ruins at the top of the mountain.

Group picture at the top of Mount Beacon! They all survived the steep hike in flipflops.

Family photo cuddling for warmth on a drizzly day on The Walkway Over the Hudson.

Lenora with one of the many pictures along the walkway, depicting history of the bridge and Hudson River ecology.

Family of funny faces! Lenora hitched a ride most of the way. Notice Trystan's sparkly shoes?

Trystan on the Walkway Over the Hudson. He walked almost the entire thing on his own.
