Home Care Guidelines

This page describes the home care activities that need to be done around our Torrance house on a regular basis.

Outdoors

  1. Put trash and recycling containers on the street Sunday evenings and return the containers to their places when emptied.

  2. Keep weeds out of pavers and flower beds.

  3. Weed the garden.

  4. Water potted plants when necessary to keep them healthy.

  5. Hunt for and kill black widow spiders.

  6. Weed whack and mow lawns when necessary (every three weeks minimum).

  7. Fill and flush garden fountain as necessary.

  8. Flush kitty drinking water every other day.

  9. Water trees and roses to keep them growing. Cut roses after blooms fade.

  10. Wash the car once a month.

Indoors

  1. Vacuum entire house weekly.

  2. Empty indoor trash containers daily or when full.

  3. Keep kitchen clean.

  4. Return tableware and glasses to kitchen as soon as done.

  5. Keep bathroom clean and clean toilets weekly.

  6. Wash clothes, towels, and sheets; change bed sheets weekly.

  7. Turn on faucets and flush toilet in back bathroom weekly.

Dilligent performance of these activities will keep the house presentable for visitors and is part of being a good neighbor.
