2002 November Meeting Demonstration
Ted Oka demonstrated with grafted shimpaku juniper (juniperus chinensis sargentii, var.
shimpaku).
Ted with the tree in work. Shimpaku scions were grafted onto the varigated juniper branches.
Members crowd around to see during the refreshment break.
The shimpaku foliage is a deep and luscious green with fine scale.
Ted Oka is one of the founding members of Dai Ichi Bonsai Kai, having joined the club
in the first year of its existence. Thanks, Ted, for a very informative and interesting
demonstration.
