In 1976, 25-year old Gerald K. Santos and 26-year old Robert Russell Beaumont made their first recording. Mike Kelly, then the manager of Records Hawaii, helped them form a company, Seabird Sound. From the beginning, their music was a hit on KCCN 1420 AM station Aloha. More albums followed in 1977 and 1980, gaining universal popularity and numerous Na Hoku Hanohano Awards. --By Harry B. Soria
