Haiku

The rules for haiku in Japanese are very strict, but are more liberal in English. Generally, haiku are (Japanese nouns are both singular and plural) 17 syllables; 5, 7, and 5 on separate lines, with a break in thought (colon or em-dash) after either the first or second line.

Cosmology

Vast spaces of stars,
Expansive void energy:
Contains all life.

Mind

Mechanism for
Feeling, knowing and moving:
Consciousness structure.

Life

Granite weathers and
Becomes clay, creatures emerge:
Cyclic change evolves.

Abortion

Sperm and egg unite
But wrong time wrong man wrong life:
Gently intercede.

War

Yee ha, let's FUBAR!
Cowboys with guns and missiles:
First resort or last?

Peace

End of war horror:
Enjoy the garden of life,
Good will has conquered.

Bonsai

Rain drench root and bud
Sun warm pot, bark, and branches:
Life and love on bench

Brain

Neurotransmitter:
Molecular consciousness
In synapse abyss
